A show-stopping affair
Nikolas and Amanda… One of our favorite couples of all times. When we first met them, it was not as planners. We were only meant to show them a few venues around our amazing Kefalonia. But then instantly clicked and it made sense. We were to be their planners and design together what was meant to be a show-stopping affair!
Nikolas is half Greek-half and Amanda is half Iranian-half Polish. Once you see them together, you know: They are meant to be together. The way they tease each other, the way they communicate, the way they talk makes you believe there is a happily ever after. And the way they talk one another when the other is not listening… well that makes your heart swell with joy.
The first thing to tackle was the venue. This amazing couple knew exactly what they needed and they would not settle for anything else. It had to be big enough for a three-fold event, it had to be stunning, it had to have a sea view and it had to be able to accommodate as many of their 100 guests as possible. After tour upon tour and countless venue sightings, we found the one: The Emelisse Nature Resort in the picturesque Fiscardo had it all!
And once that was booked, everything started taking shape for this spectacular event!
One thing Amanda was certain about from planning day one was that he entire decoration was to be based on her favorite flower: the hot pink bougainvillea. And that set the tone: A natural feeling with loose shapes in bright colors, always with luxury and elegance in mind! And the incredible florist to bring that all to life was Benetatos Flowers.
Words cannot do justice to the three amazing spaces designed. We will try though! However, the gorgeous clicks by the awarded Vasilis Loukatos Photography speak a thousand words themselves.
Amanda looked ravishing in her simple, yet elegant wedding dress with her 5 stunning bridesmaids in dusty pink tones. Their bouquets were floral poetry. Amandas stood out with its grand volume. A gorgeous arrangement of bougainvillea, roses and greenery. Her entourage was carrying smaller versions, one different to the other. While no two bouquets were the same, they were combined harmoniously.
Once the guests walked into the ceremony venue, they were left in awe. The lighthouse area of the Emelisse looked like a storybook page came to life. A grand, circular arch of bougainvillea right over the water, with an aisle of scattered pink blossoms set the tone for what was to be a romantic ceremony like no other. The exceptional refreshments served by Mythos Catering kept everyone cool while they mingled awaiting the bride.
Nikolas wished to honor his Greek heritage, so the lovely ceremony featured traditions such as the crowning and the common cup, making everything special and bringing tears to the eyes of all the Greeks there.
Once the romantic ceremony was over and Nikolas & Amanda were now a married couple, traditional live musicians set the mood for an amazing day to follow while nibbles from Mythos Catering were served all around during photo time.
And then it was time for location No2 and the delicious dinner and Greek party! The guests were led by the Mythos Team to the Kinema Terrace, where they were greeted by an excellent Greek band, cheering everyone up! As for the decoration there, unique! Gorgeous, voluminous arrangements of the theme flower and colors hanging over the tables made the restaurant look like a dream! The tablescape looked special with the gold cutlery and the glass, hand-written tame tags. Once again, natural, elegant, luxurious.
After the stunning newlyweds made their spectacular entrance, it was time for some fine dining, again by the exceptional Mythos Catering. A four course meal, ordered by each guest to their taste honored the Greek tastes in a more refined and modern way. The chefs simply outdid themselves and everyone enjoyed their delicious meal!
And then, a surprise! Four Greek dancers came out and after putting on a great show they got everyone on their feet! It was time for some Zorba and for people to get together!
Now here is some inside information: While this amazing Greek feast was taking place, a group of very talented professionals was transforming the lighthouse that was used as a ceremony venue, to a stunning nightclub! The guests could not believe it when they were led through a corridor of hundreds of candles to the spot! A stage with a band, disco lights, a dance floor, lounge furniture and the most stunning bar you have ever seen! Even a disco ball was placed on the top of the lighthouse!
The entrance of Nikolas & Amanda at this location will be forever in our hearts. Under the tones of their incredible band, they walked in looking gorgeous and went straight for their cake cutting. An out-of-this-world four tier cake in pink ombre and golden tones stood in the centre of the dance floor for them. Perfetto Patisserie really worked miracles with this.
Their guests stood all around them, holding sparklers that made everything romantic around them as they went for their first dance. It was spectacular, yet romantic at the same time. And right at the peak of the song, fireworks! Night turned into day with an amazing display lighting up the sky!
The Mythos Team had done it once again! Magic took place and it was now time to party! The band was amazing, the cocktails by the Mythos Catering bar were flowing and everyone enjoyed the best night ever!
That was an event we would love to live over and over again.
